East Lancs riders 10 mile Time Trial

Date published: 15 December 2015

The final festive time trial of the season for the East Lancs riders was the Manchester & District Time Trial Association Xmas 10 mile Time Trial, just south of Knutsford.

The East Lancs entered a large group of riders both in fancy dress and others in racing mode still chasing a good performance.

Jonny Decamps won the fancy dress event with an amazing contraption, he entered on a bike and sidecar with his skeletal friend.

Jonny successfully completed the 10 miles, with his 'companion', in two hours and four minutes, to win the fancy dress section for the second year running

When asked about the condition of bike and riders, Jonny said everything was fine apart from his friend's knee joints which he had to wire up a couple of times!

The East Lancs entered another group of riders in the guise of superheroes including Batman, Robin, Poison Ivy, The Joker, A Fox and Catwoman but they couldn’t match Jonny Decamps when it came down to the prizes.

In addition to the fancy dress, the club fielded several others riders some of whom figured in the prizes. These included Cameron Pilkington, second juvenile, Sam Walley, second junior, Ben Trippier, second in event overall and the East Lancs won the team prize with a team comprised fully of teenagers including Sam, Ben and Alex Wiseman.
