Win tickets to Rochdale AFC's first home game of the new season

Rochdale AFC has donated two tickets to Rochdale Online to give to a reader for the first home game of the season.

Last season Dale had the second best finish the club has ever achieved in the football league - ninth in League One - and the club and supporters are hoping for an even better season this time.

Manager Keith Hill has been pleased with the team in pre-season games, especially the comfortable victory over Championship team Middlesborough.

Dale also dominated possession against Barnsley and were unfortunate to lose; Hill said after the game he was pleased with the performance despite the result. He added: "We looked good in attack."

If Dale reproduce that form in the opening games and get off to a great start then the club could be pushing for promotion up to the Championship for the first time in its history.
