Miss Rochdale 2009

I am currently living in Leeds on an undergraduate course studying Public Health. Although I thoroughly enjoy the university lifestyle I do tend to get homesick from the surroundings of Rochdale. I grew up in the small hamlet of Ogden, just on the outskirts of Newhey; surronded by fields and sheep I feel I have benefited from the Rochdale country air. Rochdale isn't the most popular town and therefore I want to show that good things do come out of Rochdale. I am proud to say I am a 'Rochdalian' because all my fond childhood memories were created there, and I feel it is a very vibrant and underestimated town.
