Details:

Rochdale shoppers will have the chance to meet Father Christmas and his elves this weekend, when he arrives at Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre on his sleigh.

On Saturday 30 November, Santa will be arriving straight from the North Pole with some of his most trusted elves to meet families from across the community. From 11am until 4pm, he will be presenting gifts to deserving children for a small donation, helping to raise money for Manchester Children’s Hospital and Springhill Hospice. And, to mark this most festive of occasions, there will also be a variety of exciting activities taking place to help make the day even more joyful.

Two Christmas themed stilt walkers will be roaming the centre, spreading yuletide magic, handing out presents and sweet treats to good boys and girls. A doodle cube will also be located in centre square, where youngsters can get creative.

Lorenzo O’Reilly, Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre manager, said: “Last year, through Santa’s Sleigh alone we successfully raised £2,467.50 for charity, so we really hope we can beat our target.”

*Children will be able to visit Santa every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 4pm from the 30 November until Sunday 15 December and then daily from Wednesday 18 December until Tuesday 24 December, with all proceeds going to Rochdale Exchange’s chosen Christmas charities. One child entry to see Santa is £3.
