Heywood 1940's Day is back for another year.

All welcome. Something for everyone and for every generation to enjoy.

Swastika and SS Uniforms not welcome.

  • Vintage vehicles, armoured vehicles, tanks, buses, jeeps & trucks
  • Charity stalls
  • Aeroplanes
  • Singers & musicians
  • Stalls and children activities including vintage fairground rides and Punch & Judy (outside the Civic Centre)
  • Wave the evacuees off from East Lancashire Railway (9.45am)
  • Armed forces parade (leaving The Heywood at 1pm)
  • Backstep Boogie Dancers & air raid shelter (at Tillys Tea Room)
  • Encampment (on Hill Street)
  • 1940s entertainment (in front of St Lukes from 12pm)
  • NAAFI (in St Lukes 12pm - 5pm)
  • Plus more!

Don't forget to line the streets for the Town’s Official Armed Forces Day Parade, leaving from what was The Heywood Pub at 1pm. Leading with the official standards, Veterans and Cadets alike will be marching along with the Pipes and Drums Band around the town and returning to The Heywood Pub. Any vintage vehicles or persons wanting to join the parade are very much welcome and should be there at 12.30pm.
