Castle Taxis has been bought out by Heywood taxi firm Car 2000.
The popular rank, based in Sudden, will lose the familiar Union Jack flags and become part of the Heywood taxi firm after a deal was struck by the business owners this week.
The Sudden office is to become unmanned with a buzzer through to the Heywood office, and will be rebranded 'Castle 2000'.
The owner of Car 2000 told Rochdale Online that the Castle numbers can still be used and will be diverted, and that cars will remain in the Sudden area as well as Heywood.
He said: “There will be a much bigger area now that we’ll cover, and more drivers. There is a lot to get done over the next few weeks but it should all be sorted soon.”
