GJD in the spotlight at UK’s largest innovation show

Date published: 09 November 2016

GJD, based in Heywood, was one of 25 companies from across the country to launch new innovations and products at Innovate 2016, which took place on the 2 and 3 November.

The two-day event in Manchester was hosted by the Department for International Trade and Innovate UK. It is the largest cross-sector innovation show in the UK.

GJD showcased ground-breaking external motion detectors designed to tackle false alarms, which is one of the major challenges in the security industry.

The positive impact to the security industry from GJD’s reliable zero-false-alarm detectors is unprecedented. Some of the key benefits include reduced hours and resource costs spent analysing and attending to false alarm reports.

Innovate UK Chief Executive Ruth McKernan said: “I congratulate GJD on their success in winning a place and thank them for their involvement in our annual flagship show of innovation excellence across the UK.

“This year we saw an increase in the number of companies launching new products at the event. It is important for Innovate UK to support the showcasing of companies’ achievements, helping to raise visibility of their brand and demonstrating the impact that results from our support.”

Mark Tibbenham, GJD’s Managing Director commented: “We are extremely proud to have taken part in such a prestigious event. Innovate 2016 was a fantastic success for GJD. It was great to showcase our new innovate V-TECT detector and discuss exciting new business opportunities.”
