Maggie J’s Baby Store in Milnrow celebrates two years of business on 15 August.
The Bridge Street shop was started in 2020 by Julie Deane, combining over 20 years’ expertise as a buyer and product developer with being a new mum after an emotional IVF journey.
After two rounds of treatment, Julie gave birth to her daughter, Maggie Joyce, on 15 March 2016. Following a year’s maternity leave, Julie returned to her old job before deciding to put all her knowledge into the new business.
Julie said: “I want this store to be about mums and mums-to-be, listening to them to provide the best service and advice. I believe, with my experience as a mum and buyer, I can supply brands that are affordable and safe and perfect for both new and growing families.”
On celebrating two years of successful business, she added: “The last two years have been hard but amazing. To help growing families with advice and to help them purchase the perfect travel system or furniture set makes me so happy, knowing another baby or child is going to be safe and comfortable.
“I have had some absolutely beautiful reviews which has made it all worthwhile. I just want to say thank you to my customers for all their support.”
Maggie J’s provides all of the essential items for babies of all ages: travel systems, strollers, high chairs, bouncers, changing bags, bedding, mattresses, co-sleepers, Moses baskets, nursery furniture, feeding essentials and toys.
Julie also specialises in extended rear-facing car seats (up to seven years) and is certified to fit them. Car seats from birth to 150cm (12 years) are also available.
