Norden employees help company secure Queen's Award

Date published: 06 March 2023

Two men from Norden employed by a Swinton company have helped it receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for a second time.

Shaun and Liam Serridge, sales/marketing director and international sales manager at S+B UK Limited, respectively, have been instrumental in the company winning the award for the second time.

Both are natives of Norden and are shareholders in the company along with brother Dominic, club captain at Rochdale RUFC, and father Mike, both Rochdale residents.

To be considered for this award, the company had to show growth in international sales in the face of stiff overseas competition for three successive years, and demonstrate the growth and development opportunities for its employees generated by the increase in business.

The business first received the award in 2016; this is the last Queen’s Award before it becomes the King’s Award.

The Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester will be visiting the S+B offices and factory to present the award and the company MD has been invited to a celebratory reception at Buckingham Palace.

S+B UK Limited specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of laboratory furniture for schools, universities, healthcare, R&D and industry across the globe.
