Businesses on Stakehill take part in Great British Spring Clean

Date published: 06 April 2023

As part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean period, Stakehill Business Improvement District (BID) organised a spring clean of the local area with three ‘Tidy Days’.

Stakehill BID covers the Stakehill Industrial Estate and the ‘Tidy Day’ volunteers covered a significant part of the Stakehill BID area over the three days.

Over 80 bags of litter were collected by volunteers from many Stakehill-based businesses including Ceva Logisitics, Footayslum, RDA and RBC.

Alan Johnson, Stakehill BID Manager, said: “I’m thrilled with the turnout and result of the ‘Tidy Days’, this has made a positive impact on the estate.

“I’d like to thank everyone that participated and Rochdale Borough Council for the PPE, collection of the rubbish and the use of the road and path sweepers over the three days.”

UBS is the majority owner of Stakehill Industrial Estate. Since its purchase, UBS and Canmoor Asset Management have undertaken a series of initiatives to improve the estate. These include full unit refurbishments when units became vacant, landscaping works and additional signage and CCTV installations.

Stakehill BID has a business-driven focus to ensure essential improvements to Stakehill Industrial Estate, a means to ensure that the businesses, not only survive, but prosper in these uncertain times.
