Studio 82 shortlisted for prestigious UK Hair and Beauty Award

Date published: 10 April 2023

Heywood’s Studio 82 hair salon has been shortlisted for a UK Hair and Beauty Award.

The salon, which turns two on 14 April, has made it to the top 10 in the ‘best for blondes’ category in the black-tie event.

Studio 82 is run by Danica Hampton and Darcy Jones, who started out renting a small salon on King Street.

Within 18 months, they’d outgrown the space and moved to a three-storey salon on Manchester Road. They are joined by a holistic therapist, Samantha Wilson; a microblading specialist, Stacey Saunders; and hair stylist Jess Taylor.

Danica said: “Darcy is a vivid colour specialist and I have a L’Oréal colour degree and I’m also a blonde specialist.

“We entered the awards in October 2022 on a bit of a whim for fun and never expected to make it to the final let alone be in the top 10 for our region.

“The UK Hair and Beauty Awards are the most prestigious in the country and we feel so honoured and proud to be recognised by them.”

The UK Hair and Beauty Awards are held in Birmingham on 22 April and is a red carpet and black tie event with celebrity hosts Jake Quickenden and Duncan James.
