Date published: 30 November 2023

A Rochdale businesswoman has been highly commended for best business start-up at the Crème de la Crème Business Awards.

Pam Shanker was presented with the award at Cranage Hall in Cheshire on 17 November.

Pam, who has a civil service and property investment background, decided in June 2022 to become a coach founding Pam Shanker Coaching after qualifying in October 2022.

Pam became accredited by the International Coaching Federation as a transformative coach in May 2023 and since September of this year has become a Motivational speaker too.

In September 2022, Pam founded a monthly pop-up café called The Universe Café in Rochdale to empower people to be, do and have whatever they want – regardless of age, gender or background.

The café is an opportunity for like-minded people to come together to celebrate each other and themselves and to dream big. She also runs a group coaching workshop in which harnesses the power of the Law of Attraction and manifesting to really achieve their goals.

Everyone is welcome and teenagers can attend for free.

The Universe Café is partnered with two charities: St Philips Chapel Street, which helps to support vulnerable women on the streets of Manchester, and Centrepoint, which helps end youth homelessness.

Pam said: “Winning the highly commended award in the Best Business Start Up 2023 (2 Years) category was fantastic. To be recognised as a transformational coach and motivational speaker in such a short space of time is really wonderful.

“Following a long career in the civil service and property, I am following my dream and that is to empower people to follow their dreams.

“Regardless of age, gender or background anyone can be, do and have whatever they want with a clear vision, a plan and they take action.

“A big thank you to Joanna Scott-Aspray. She is an inspiration and the awards were her dream. Thank you so much, Joanna.”
