When Jim Brogan founded Newbold Tyres and Exhausts back in 1980, he decided to build the company on a very simple formula that has stood him in good stead for over 30 years:

“If we haven’t got it, we’ll get it.”

This is no idle boast and explains why his business has built up such a loyal customer-base and why they continue to come back again and again. Much of the company’s success has also been built on word of mouth and many newer customers arrive because of personal recommendation from established clients.

“At Newbold Tyres, we understand that our customers are busy people and that we operate in a very competitive market,” says Jim. “They don’t want excuses. They want the best tyres at the best possible price and they need them quickly.

“We spend a lot of time talking to our customers and they tell us again and again that they aren’t interested in TV advertising and fancy promises. They want a local business that they can trust and one that meets their individual needs.”

Although the core business is focussed on the supply and skilled fitting of quality tyres and exhausts, Newbold Tyres provides a full range of services that includes tracking, balancing and puncture repair as well as supplying batteries and accessories.

The company prides itself on being able to beat the larger, ‘High Street’, brand-name garages when it comes to price but this is not done by compromising on quality. It is the Main Agent for the award-winning Kumho Tyres and also supplies top brands such as Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli and Continental.

“At Newbold Tyres,” explains Jim, “Our customers really are king and we will always seek to match the best product to suit the customer’s needs as well as his pockets.”

“We recognise that all our customers are different.” says Jim. “So whether they drive cars, vans, motorcycles or commercial vehicles, we will always be able to supply and fit the product that matches their particular requirements.”

As well as providing a friendly, face to face service, the company is also able to provide customers with an ‘online quote’ facility through its website.

One customer we spoke to told us: “We have been using the company for years. If we have a problem, we just pop into the garage and Jim deals with it there and then. Often it’s just something minor that can be sorted out on the spot and we never felt that we were being pressured into buying something we didn’t really need.”
