Wine bar offers Rochdale clubbers a new level of sophistication

If you are the sort of person who enjoys the club and wine-bar scene and tends to head into Manchester at weekend for a touch of sophistication that you feel Rochdale presently lacks, then there’s some great news for you!.

The newly opened Dewine Bar on Oldham Road, by Wet Rake, is the latest place to see and be seen in. Located in the former Benson’s venue, Dewine is laid out over three separate floors and offers a bar, dance and lounge areas plus a VIP section for those visiting celebs.

Dewine is the bar that really is seeking to be different and is aimed at the smartly and trendily dressed set who wish to relax over a glass of wine or a cocktail in luxurious surroundings. Or perhaps some want to dance the night away to the hottest sounds around to a state-of-the art audio and lighting system.

After midnight the upstairs club swings into action and at the moment, as an introductory offer, entrance is completely FREE!

As well as offering a great choice of wines, cocktails and champagne for that special celebration, Dewine provides customers with a well-stocked bar serving the more traditional brand-name lagers, ciders and beers.

The Dewine Bar currently opens from Thursday through to Sunday nights from 8.00pm to 4 .00am although there are plans to extend this when the venue has built up a clientele.

During the day, Dewine can also be used to host corporate events, training seminars and conferences. If you wish to book a venue for that Christmas office party or special celebration, now is the time to book as demand is expected to be high.

If you wish, you can book an entire floor and Dewine can provide a buffet made up to your particular requirements. They are only too willing to take bookings for your own private party or function at very competitive prices but with no reduction in their quality of service.

We spoke to Lee who visited earlier this month and said that he was “bowled over” by the high-end touches that Dewine has to offer. “It just felt so different to what other venues are putting on,” he said. “The luxurious surroundings make you feel more like an honoured guest than a customer. There was such a great range of drinks to try and the staff were so friendly rather than being ‘in your face’ like they are in some other places.”

The club’s owner told us: “We did a lot of research before we decided on Dewine’s format and spent a great deal of time talking to Rochdale’s clubbers. It was very clear that they wanted something different. They want to enjoy themselves yet feel safe among a smarter, trendier set than some clubs seem to encourage.

“They want something with a more sophisticated ‘Manchester-feel’ yet without being charged outrageous Manchester prices. We have engaged a discreet yet professional door service whose job will be to make our guests feel welcome and ensure that we can provide the relaxed but fun atmosphere that people want to enjoy after a hard week at work.

“At Dewine, we always like to remember that our customers are first and foremost, our guests and it is with that in mind that we want to welcome them back again and again.”

There is even better news for police and NHS staff as Dewine is planning to introduce a 10% discount scheme on all their drinks and room-hire prices!

So, forget that long and expensive bus or taxi ride into the city this weekend. Do something different and give Dewine a try. Who knows, it might become habit-forming!
