New website for Rochdale Town Centre Management

Date published: 25 January 2014

Rochdale Town Centre Management has launched their completely redeveloped website.

The website provides users with information regarding the town centre and allows the Town Centre Management team to update the website as and when they need to.

Chief Executive of Town Centre Management, Debbie Hernon said: “The new website looks great and has all the features we need to convey our messages to our online visitors. It's important that we use as many mediums as possible to communicate the great things about Rochdale."

Ian Kimber, Technical Director at Rochdale Online said: “The Town Centre Management team wanted an easy to use system that they didn’t have to spend a lot of time on and that is something that we have given them.”

One of the features of the new website is that it is fully responsive which means it will look good on mobile devices and tablets as well as desktop devices.

Many websites are now being designed as fully responsive websites. Ian added: “This is something we are doing with all websites now.”

The Town Centre Management team can manage all of the content themselves. Ian added: “The site allows them to add and create pages that they can manage themselves when they need and want to.”

The new website includes an up to date news section, photo gallery, shopping information, information about Rochdale, services, an about section, social media, FAQ’s and up to date contact information.

The site also has events and business sections, which integrates information regarding events and businesses listed on Rochdale Online. “The website integrates data from Rochdale Online about the town centre in terms of events and businesses,” said Ian.

The new website is sponsored by Rochdale Online, Managing Director Pauline Journeaux said: "Debbie has a small team that do a terrific, and sometimes thankless, job. Whilst TCM has a thriving social media presence, a bespoke website remains essential for any organisation serious about communication and we are delighted to have been able to help out."

Rochdale Town Centre Management was established to act as a catalyst between Rochdale Council and town centre businesses. The team is dedicated to improving the vitality and viability of Rochdale.
