Vileda cleans up with Investors in People gold award

Date published: 10 March 2014

Rochdale-based company Freudenberg Household Products (FHP), best known for its homecare brand Vileda, has achieved the Investors in People gold standard, joining the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK who believe in realising the potential of their people.

This is the second time FHP has achieved the gold standard, but this year also sees the team celebrate a double-win after hitting all the criteria for the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award.

The company, which is present in more than 50 countries around the world, has its UK office on Chichester Street in Rochdale, where the 50-strong team work across the company’s professional and consumer brands.

Best known to UK consumers as the leading homecare brand Vileda, the company produces durable products such as mops, brooms, gloves, cloths, scourers and ironing boards for the home, all designed to make housework easier. Best-selling products include the SuperMocio mop and 1, 2 Spray mop.

Investors in People is the UK's leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great business.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate FHP on their gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be. FHP should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

Commenting on the award, Heather Spink, regional HR manager at Vileda, said: “We strive continuously to create a modern, healthy and happy working environment for our employees so to have this recognised, not only by once again achieving gold Investors in People status, but also the new Health and Wellbeing award, is fantastic.

“We wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the consistent hard work and commitment of all our employees so the credit really goes to them.”
