Millie’s Trust hits the road with Carcraft

Date published: 07 May 2014

National charity, Millie’s Trust is on the road to training more people in family first aid in 2014, thanks to a donation from the UK’s leading used car supermarket.

Carcraft, which announced a national partnership with the charity in March, has increased its level of support and donated a Vauxhall Zafira to Millie’s Trust. The vehicle, which is emblazoned with the Millie’s Trust logo, will be used by the charity’s trainers to transport training equipment. The car will also allow the charity to provide a shuttle service to some people who may otherwise be unable to attend the courses.

Millie’s Trust, based in Greater Manchester, was founded in December 2012 by the parents of Millie Thompson, who tragically died in a choking incident. Since then, it has trained 2,500 people across the country in first aid, and as a result has saved the lives of over 150 children.

Robin Bridge, Chief Executive Officer at Carcraft, commented: “Since the announcement of our partnership with Millie’s Trust last month, we’ve developed a great relationship with Dan and Joanne, the charity’s founders. We have already hosted six courses across the country, and it was during this time we became aware of the charity’s need for an additional vehicle.

"We are delighted to be able to donate this car, and hope it will not only help the trainers who travel for courses but also help to raise awareness of this wonderful charity and the work it does.”

Dan Thompson, Co-Founder of Millie’s Trust, said: “Working with Carcraft has been brilliant for the charity. It has provided us with venues across the country which means we are now able to offer courses in many more areas.

"With the donation of this vehicle there will be two Millie’s Trust cars on the road at all times, educating the country in family first aid.”
