The Business Depot set to open in USA

Date published: 12 August 2014

Rochdale based IT company, The Business Depot, is set to open up in the USA.

US based IT company in Chicago, Illinois is being acquired and will be re-branded as The Business Depot LLC and has been registered with the US Secretary of State.

The Business Depot UK has been operating for just over two years and hosts over 125 users covering from Rochdale to as far down as East Sussex.

The company is owned and operated by both local businesswoman Julie Bowmer and her son Liam.

Mr Bowmer said: "This is strategic planning that is being formulated for future US expansion.

"I and another member of our team are set to travel to Chicago early September to begin the set-up of our US based data centre.

We hope to replicate the value for money option we have here in the UK.

"People are catching on that you don’t need to spend a fortune on infrastructure anymore, it’s far more cost effective to use a secure private cloud."

Ms Bowmer added: "Service with a personal touch means everything to us, so any growth has to be carefully staged, we would never comprise on service; you never know Rochdale could just yet be the Silicon Valley of the UK, stranger things have happened."
