Businesses want to light up Littleborough

Date published: 12 March 2015

Littleborough businesses in conjunction with Littleborough Events & Associations Forum (LEAF) are hoping to raise £3,000 to light up Littleborough this Christmas.

The Light Up Littleborough campaign was born at the Pennine Business & Tourism meeting earlier this year after businesses expressed their disappointment at the lights provided by Rochdale Council last Christmas.

Raffle tickets are now on sale in local shops at £1 each and a whole host of local businesses have come forward to donate prizes to the cause.

Neela Jackson, from The Star Tree Studio, said "Since Elizabeth White first brought the idea up at a Pennine Business and Tourism meeting I've been absolutely thrilled by the backing from local businesses. Business owners are wholeheartedly supporting the fund whether it be by donating generous raffle prizes, donating cash to purchase lights or agreeing to sell raffle tickets. Everyone is working together and helping in some way to try to improve how Littleborough will look for local people and tourists this Christmas."
