The Pavilion II wins Certificate of Excellence

Date published: 10 July 2015

Indian restaurant, the Pavilion II, has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, for the third year running.

Moin Uddin, one of the managers of the restaurant, said: “We were very excited when we heard that we had been given the award again. We are really happy to see that our hard work is paying off.”

Moin, Raja Miah and Saj Haque took over the restaurant on Spotland Road in 2012 and have been awarded certificates of excellence every year since 2013.

Moin added: “It means a lot to us because everyone who works here really does have an input. From the full time staff, to the part time staff, everyone contributes.

“We took over at the end of 2012 and when we took over the business wasn’t very successful. So to work hard and make it a successful business and to get recognition for that, has been great.”

The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is awarded to businesses consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.

Raja Miah said: “We have over 400 reviews on TripAdvisor so it is nice to see that our customers have taken the time to review us and let people know what they think about us.

“There are other Indian restaurants in Rochdale that have been around longer than us, that haven’t got many reviews, so it is nice that this feedback and recognition is coming from our customers.”

The owners now have big plans for the restaurant's future and hope to develop a bigger lounge and expand the premises to include a cocktail bar.

“A lot of our regular customers have said that there used to be a few pubs along Spotland Road that they could have a drink in, but now there aren’t any so we started doing cocktails and got a good response from them.

“Now we are hoping to get permission to expand and maybe have a cocktail bar on site so people can come not only for food but for drinks as well,” added Raja.
