Status quo in the Hornets boardroom

Date published: 07 October 2014

There will be no change in the boardroom at Rochdale Hornets in 2014-15 as the membership voted for the current board to continue.

Four members of the Hornets board must step down each year to allow new members to put themselves forward for a chance to run the club.

This year, elected members Walter Tann and Julie Clarke, who have served on the board since the clubs re-formation in 2009, alongside Wendy Hamer (elected 2012) were all required to stand down following a two year term of office.

Mick Johnson, who was co-opted onto the board six months ago, was also asked to stand for election.

All four were successful in re-gaining there seats on the board as in what is seen as a vote of confidence, no-one stood against them.

The four will serve another two year term of office alongside Mark Wynn, Paul Ormerod, David Bulcock and Richard Hobson who all have one year left on their current term.

The next Rochdale Hornets members meeting will take place on Tuesday 18 November with a vote on match days/times expected to top the agenda.
