Hornets attention turns to 2016

Date published: 14 September 2015

With Hornets failing to get to the play offs, they can now focus their attention fully on establishing a squad for 2016.

“We don't think major surgery is needed on the playing staff front, but naturally we will have a turnover of players”, commented CEO Ryan Bradley.

“We haven't hid the fact that we have put more into the playing side of things than ever before and it hasn't paid off.

“But Tol genuinely believes we are just one or two away from going to that next level.

“We have had loads of players from Championship and League 1 get in touch personally and via agents and there are some good amateur players that deserve a shot as well.

“A few players have already re-signed from this year and the rest have until end of the week really, after that well move elsewhere as we want the squad assembled and ready to go.

“Meanwhile assistant coach and former player Chris Hough has announced he is to step away from his role at the end of the year to spend more time with his family.

“He's really struggled to attend training this year with his job and after his length of service to the game and club he feels he needs to spend time with wife Nicola and his twin boys and no one can begrudge him that.”
