Piquante Palais: Quality food at affordable prices

Piquante Palais, located at 3 Yorkshire Street, opened last week and is home to a modern authentic French, Italian and Indian restaurant offering fresh food sourced locally were possible.

Piquante Palais means fresh tasty dish in Italian and director of the restaurant Fahim Chowdhury said: “We want to let people in Rochdale know that there is a nice place offering luxury food for affordable prices.”

The restaurant comprises of a café area as you enter, which is overlooked by a bar and open plan kitchen. There are also booths to one side for families or people looking for privacy. To the back of the restaurant is a large dining room for people looking to sit in for a meal.

Piquante Palais offers a wide range of French dishes, Italian soups and salads and “one of the best steaks in the area”, according to Fahim. All of the food on offer is halal.

A breakfast menu and a fast food menu is also available. A children’s menu is also on offer with a variety of meals, including Indian dishes.

Fahim added: “We are offering English people a European way of presenting food.”

The restaurant is not licensed but serves beautiful non alcoholic cocktails, called mocktails, and serves desserts made from the finest swiss Mövenpick ice cream.

The official 'grand opening' of the restaurant will take place on Thursday 12 September with Mayor Councillor Peter Rush officially opening the restaurant.

Piquante Palais offers student discounts, concessionary discounts for pensioners and discounts for public servants in Rochdale. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

The restaurant can cater for medium parties and bookings are welcome but people can also walk in.

Piquante Palais is open from 8am-11pm Monday-Saturday and from 11am-11pm on Sunday and is located opposite Halifax Bank.
