Holy Family students rewarded for sporting success

Holy Family held its PE Awards Evening to celebrate the sporting successes of the school teams throughout the year.

Students who had been committed to training, represented the school team in any sport were awarded half or full colours in their sport.

The team successes we have celebrated this year are: 

  • KS3 Girls badminton came first in the Rochdale competition, and first in the Manchester catholic games
  • KS3 Boys badminton came first in the Rochdale competition
  • KS4 Boys badminton came second in the Rochdale competition
  • Year 7 and 8 hockey came second in their competitions
  • KS3 trampolining team came second
  • KS4 trampolining team came first
  • Year 7 and 8 boys dodge ball team A came third, and team B also came third
  • Year 7 and 8 girls dodge ball team came third
  • Year 9 netball team came third in their league
  • Year 8 football team were Rochdale premier league winners and cup runners up
  • Year 10 football team were Rochdale premier league winners
  • Year 9 active four sports fest competition in Barcelona 2016 

The evening started with a speech from Mrs Mannion followed by pasty and peas and a disco, where "everyone packed the dance floor" and had a "fantastic night".
