Siddal Moor charity appeal raises £3,850

Date published: 20 September 2016

Siddal Moor students, staff and members of the local community have raised £3,850 for The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

A spokesperson for the school said: "Once again we have been astounded by the amount of generosity and support which has been given, to help us exceed all expectations and smash previous totals raised by the school to support an excellent cause.

"This year Siddal Moor managed to raise £3,850 through running events such as a 'Human Hungry Hippos Staff Event', 'Battle of The Performing Houses Talent Competition', a 'Grand Raffle Family Night' and a sponsored walk up Pendle Hill with over one hundred participants and this is just to name but a few.

"A special mention must go out to the House Team who organise and deliver these events, without their time and dedication to raising funds for local charities, students would miss out on the opportunity on seeing what a difference their help and support can make to a charity which is clearly so close to their hearts after supporting them for the third time in nearly as many years.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank The Royal Manchester Children’s hospital who have supported us in our efforts, we hope the monies raised will make a real difference."
