Ready Steady Go at The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre

Date published: 26 September 2016

Children laughed with enjoyment as they created their own cardboard cars to take around the Ready Steady Go track.

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre hosted a free event, on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September, to teach children the importance of road safety in a fun and dynamic way.

Three talented performers brought the occasion to life with storytelling, music and movement.

Once children had produced their car creations, they were ready to enter the driving school, experiencing hazards such as zebra crossings, snow and learning when to stop and start at the traffic lights.

Alongside the Ready Steady Go experience families were delighted by the excessively enthusiastic Lollipop Ladies. The comedy duo made shoppers laugh-out-loud as they patrolled the mall with their traffic light routine.

Debbie Hernon, The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre Manager, commented: “The team at The Wheatsheaf are delighted to hold such an event for our shoppers, we are very dedicated to our Kids Club events and creating a community focused atmosphere at the shopping centre.”

Ready Steady Go, is a multi-disciplinary show aimed at children aged three to nine years old that teaches the rules and regulations of road safety and independent travel.
