Stephen Brannigan with wife Val and sons Lloyd, Laurence and Lewis
Steve Brannigan unexpectedly died at Wythenshawe Hospital on Sunday 2 October 2016 at the age of 66 following a heart attack.
The much-loved husband of Val Brannigan, 60, and wonderful father is survived by his three sons Lloyd, 25, Lewis, 27, and Laurence, 31. He also leaves behind his mother, Joan, 88.
He was a family man who was very close to his wife and very proud of his sons for their successes in life.
Steve was born in Hazel Grove, Stockport on 16/05/1950 and had lived in Norden, Rochdale for 35 years.
He retired in February 2016 and had held various occupations including financial advising, working for The Daily Mirror, owning a car wash and working as a taxi driver. He also ran the Magashi Kam Dojo in Manchester and used to attend karate tournaments in Spain.
His interests included music from the 1950s-1970s, classic cars and supporting Manchester United. He is described by his family as: “Always having a smile on his face; those who met him, remembered him. He would talk with anyone about anything.”
The funeral service will be held at Rochdale Crematorium on Thursday 13 October at 2.20pm for those wishing to pay their respects.
Family flowers only please.
Donations are accepted on behalf of North West Blood Bikes Lancashire and Lakes - a voluntary service that transports blood needed urgently between hospitals.
North West Blood Bikes Lancashire and Lakes will also be escorting the funeral procession.
