Date published: 14 January 2017

Phone users in Whitworth have finally had signal restored after O2 confirmed a faulty mast has been fixed.

Residents had complained that the mast had been down since New Year's Eve (Saturday 31 December 2016). O2 said that work was due to be carried out to fix aerial cabling at the site on Wednesday 11 January.

Now O2 has confirmed that the fault has been fixed, two weeks after it had been reported.

A spokesperson said: “Our third party supplier has repaired their damaged cable which has restored service to our mast in the Whitworth area. Incidents like this are rare and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“Customers can contact our customer service team if they want to discuss their account as a result of this issue.”
