Hamer Community Primary School

A big welcome back to all our families. We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and spent lots of lovely family time together. It was great to see our children back on Tuesday and ready to learn. Please can parents do everything to ensure that your children attend school every day, we really appreciate your support.

Thank you to all parents whose children attended the booster classes over the Easter holidays. It is great that the children gave up some of their holiday time to put in extra work and the benefits will be seen when we come around to SATS. Also, a big thank you to the staff who gave up time to be involved with these sessions – Mrs Hoyle, Miss Weaver, Mrs Booth, Miss Mansfield, Miss Bibi, Mr Barraclough, Mrs John & Mrs Terry.

Places are available for children across the whole of school in our Breakfast Club.

Following feedback from parents, we have extended the hours for this and parents can now drop children off from 8:00am (if they require a breakfast please ensure children arrive before 8.30am.) The price remains the same as last year at only £1 per day and this is exceptional value in comparison to other providers in the area. Payment needs to be made in advance for the half term to secure a place. Places can be full time or for selected days each week. Please see the school office for further details.

There will be a SATS information meeting at 3.30pm on Wednesday 26 April in the KS1 unit. The staff will explain how the SATS will work and there will be an opportunity for parents to ask any questions.

Our new Sports clubs will begin next week. Letters have been sent out and all children who want to attend a club have been given their first choice of club.

We have received notification of which children have been allocated a place in our Reception class for September. We are fully subscribed and a waiting list is in place with the local authority. If parents have received their child’s allocation and are not happy or have any questions, then parents need to contact the school admissions dedicated hotline on 01706 925982.

Well done to Miss Khan’s Class for the best attendance for week ending 31 March 2017.

The Stars of the Week & Citizens of the week will return on Friday 28 April.
