Mayor of Whitworth Madeline De Souza opened the RSPCA charity shop
Mayor Madeline De Souza officially opened the RSPCA Rochdale branch’s new charity shop in Whitworth on Friday (19 May).
Manager of RSPCA Rochdale, Shirley Mellor, said: “The feedback we had from customers was fantastic. The Mayor stayed for around two hours chatting to customers and staff; we are very grateful for her support.
“We will need volunteers to help run our shop, so if anyone is interested, please pop along and pick up a form. We will also need donations to keep our shop stocked.”
The Market Street is the 11th shop for the branch, and all profit goes directly to helping keep the animal centre on Redcross Street, Rochdale open.
Stock will include everything from clothes and shoes, bags and books, toys and bedding, and more.
The branch has wanted to open a shop in Whitworth for several years, due to the ‘fantastic village and community feeling’.
