The Oxford Christmas Markets
Littleborough Christmas Lights Switch On, Christmas markets and Christmas craft stalls, live bands, Christmas carol concerts, World cup final, RSPCA fundraisers, Christmas wreath making, monkey bricks and Merseysippi jazz band - lots to do round the borough for all the family.

The Oxford Christmas Markets 2017 – The Oxford Pub, Fri 1 Dec – Sun 3 Dec from 12.00pm till 8.00pm
Complete with stalls, a brass band and enough mulled wine to sink a ship!
Angel Festival – St Martin’s Church, Fri 1 Dec & Sat 2 Dec from 10.00am – 3.00pm
There are 23 Angels made by various organisations on show in the Church. You can vote for your favourite and look around our stalls.
Beach Christmas Markets – The Beach, Sat 2 Dec & Sun 3 Dec, 1.00pm – 9.00pm
We are hosting our Xmas markets all day in our stunning garden with huge marquees filled with local stalls selling Christmas goods.
Sleeping Beauty – Middleton Arena, Fri 1 Dec, Sat 2 Dec and Sun 3 Dec at various times
A pantomime perfect for the family at Christmas. Follow the link for times and ticket price. Running till the 27 Dec.
The Christmas Magic Begins at Norton Grange Hotel – Mercure Norton Grange Hotel and Spa, Fri 1 Dec, Sat 2 Dec & Sun 3 Dec. Running until 31 Dec.
A range of Christmas and New Year events for all age ranges.
- Friday 1 December
Hive of Activity – Brentwood Middleton Day Centre, 9.00am
We are holding a stall on Middleton market to highlight Brentwood and the good work they do for all the community. Includes cakes and free balloons for children.
Live Band: Soul Federation – The Flying Horse Hotel, 10.30pm
A 10 piece soul band from all over the North West. The first gig at the Flyer kicking off Christmas!
Christmas Brass Band Evening – Gordon Rigg Garden Centre Rochdale, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Come and join our fabulous festive event and witness the talented Littleborough brass band in action. Complete with pie and pea supper.
Live Band: AC/DC Tribute – Empire Rochdale, 8.00pm – 4.00pm
The AC/DC UK show is a journey through the band’s history. Free admission.
Christmas Concert – Our Lady of the Assumption RC Church, 7.15pm
Featuring performances from Middleton Brass Band, St John Fisher school band and St Mary’s Choir.
Live Band: Rapture (Blondie tribute) – The Beach, 7.00pm till late
£15 a ticket includes a 3-course festive meal plus the show!

RSPCA Rochdale Christmas Craft Fair – RSPCA Rochdale Animal Centre, 11.00am – 3.00pm
This year as well as our tombola, raffle, cakes, refreshments & gift stalls we are pleased that we will be joined by a large variety of businesses.
World Cup Final – The Flying Horse Hotel, 8.30am kick off
Bar open at 8.30am and kitchen available for breakfasts at half time. Come on England!
Councillor John Blundell Local Advice Surgery – St Ann’s Church, Firgrove & Smallbridge Library, 10.00am till 11.00am and 11.00am till 12noon
Labour Councillor for Smallbridge and Firgrove ward who will give advice, discuss local issues and listen to your ideas.
Christmas Market to celebrate Small Business Saturday – Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre, 9.00am – 5.00pm
A selection of Rochdale’s best small businesses will be showcasing a selection yuletide treats.
Littleborough Christmas Lights Switch On – Littleborough Square, 2.00pm – 6.00pm
There will be the usual music, dance and fun-fair and the lights will be switched on by the winner of the Littleborough Lions peace poster competition.
Christmas Wreaths – Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre, 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Something for the adults - make a seasonal decoration from willow and natural materials.
Winter Market – Hopwood Park, 2.00pm – 7.00pm
Annual Winter market with mulled wine, hot food and local crafts.
Milnrow Christmas Fair – Milnrow Parish Primary School, 11.00am onwards
Christmas fair with stalls, a raffle and tombola as well as a visit from Father Christmas. We also have refreshments and games to play.
Family Fundraiser – Newton National Club, 3.00pm till late
In aid of Shine and Derian House, including singers, comedians, a disco and an auction.
Live Band: Mac Floyd (Pink Floyd tribute) – Empire Rochdale, 8.00pm – 4.00am
Formed in 2009 Manc Floyd are an 8-piece Pink Floyd tribute band made up of successful Manchester based musicians.
Christmas Fair – Rochdale Parish Church St Chad’s, 11.00am – 2.00pm
A free Christmas event for all the family.
Cats Protection Rochdale Christmas Fair – St George’s Hall, 11.00am – 2.00pm
Our Christmas fair gets better every year! Please come along and support us.
Thrum Hall Methodist Christmas Fair – Thrum Hall Methodist Church, 11.00am – 1.00pm
Including chocolate tombola, angel trail, Macie-Moo bow stall, cake stall, Christmas crafts, gifts and toy tombola.

Monkey Bricks – Heywood Civic Centre, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Heywood’s own show for fans of Lego to raise funds for a range of charities.
Jazz on a Sunday: Merseysippi Jazz Band – Newton National Club, 8.00pm start
Winners of the BBC Jazz Heritage Award 2003.
Middleton Craft and Food Market – Middleton Masonic Hall, 10.00am – 3.00pm
Sharing with you our incredible handmade products that are not available on the High Street.
Fire Service Museum Christmas Open Day with Santa – Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Fire museum attractions will be on show including our collection of historic firefighting artefacts from the 18th century to present day.
Ellenroad Steam Museum Christmas Fair – Ellenroad Engine House, 11.00am – 4.00pm
Browse the stalls and then marvel at the world’s largest working steam mill engine as it runs at various times throughout the afternoon.
Sponsored Fancy Dress Walk for Pennine Animal Welfare Society – Meet at Hollingworth Lake Visitors Centre between 10 and 10.30am
There will be prizes for the best dressed dog, adult and child, so dig out your outfits.
Christmas Concert – St Stephen’s Middleton, 7.30pm
Join us for festive fun at our annual Christmas concert. With performances of all your seasonal favourites from our fantastic youth band and the senior Middleton band.
38th Anniversary of Woolies Club – Woolworths Sports & Social Club, 12noon – 11.00pm
New members are most welcome.
Sunday Club at Empire: Gumball & DJ Dave Sweetmore – Empire Rochdale, 6.00pm – 2.00pm
One of the best local cover bands. Expect classics from The Who, Kinks and The Jam. Plus Revolution radio DJ Dave playing Indie tunes.

Santa’s Workshop – Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, 12noon – 3.00pm
Santa's beautiful real reindeers will bring Santa to the animal sanctuary for the day and maybe one or two elves will also accompany him.
Christmas Party and Fun Dog Show – Littleborough Rugby Club, 11.30am – 4.00pm
Charity event to raise money for the Brain and Spine foundation in memory of Ryan Quinn (died age 5).
