Hospice to Hospice Walk 2016

Date published: 26 April 2016

Record breaking numbers pounded the pavements for Springhill Hospice on Sunday.

Hospice mascot Springy the Frog started the proceedings, directing 374 men, women, children and four legged friends, on the tenth birthday Hospice to Hospice walk.

Walkers put one fundraising foot in front of the other on the 7.25 mile circular route, stopping off for refreshments half way round at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Oldham.

Hospice fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom said: “It was an amazing day, the keenness of our supporters to do something in aid of the Hospice is just brilliant, not even the drizzle could dull their enthusiasm.

“It was also wonderful to greet walkers from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The event is not just an opportunity to raise money but also a great chance to raise awareness of the work of our doctors, nurses and volunteers.

“Thank you to everyone who supported us on the day and to all our walker’s sponsors, we’re very optimistic that last year’s fundraising total of over £11,500 will be another event record broken.”
