‘Your Rochdale’ group friends meet face-to-face

Date published: 27 June 2016

Friends brought together by Facebook group ‘Your Rochdale’ met up for their second annual gathering in The Baum beer garden on Saturday (25 June).

Hot topics were brought to the table as the group spent the afternoon communicating without the keyboard, as familiar names were matched with faces.

The first meeting which took place this time last year was such a success that administrators John Nokes and Brenda Marie Costello decided to make it a regular event.

The group has met a total of four times, with last year being the first official ‘meet and greet session’ which has paved the way for regular meetings in the Toad Lane pub.

Brenda said: “It was so nice to meet Kirsty Rigg, reporter for Rochdale Online at Your Rochdale's meet and greet - it's always good to put a face to a name we see daily, and where would we be without Rochdale Online? Also it was so good to meet more of our members. Happy Days.”

Your Rochdale started in November 2014 as a platform to discuss hot topics and give local people a chance to air their opinions about the borough and now was over 6,000 members.
