Chip pan fire at Gorton Street

A chip pan fire in Heywood was dealt with by firefighters from Rochdale and Heywood on Sunday (24 July).

The crew were there for approximately one hour. Breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan were used to extinguish the kitchen fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: “Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue would like to remind people to avoid using chip pans where possible.”
