Date published: 27 July 2016

A man and a woman have been injured after a major road incident outside Cardinal Langley RC High School in Middleton.

Two ambulances and police officers arrived at the scene on Rochdale Road just before 12.00pm after reports that a Ford Fiesta and a Suzuki Ka had crashed into each other outside the school, causing the road to be closed off in both directions for a short time.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We closed off the area on Rochdale Road in both directions while paramedics attended to a man and a woman who are believed to have been injured.

“The road is now open again and traffic has returned to normal.”

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service confirmed that one patient was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital with a neck injury. A spokesperson said: “We sent two ambulances to the incident but only one patient was taken to hospital.”
