Danczuk: The verdict

Date published: 09 August 2016

Simon Danczuk: Should a man whose judgment is clearly so seriously suspect be an MP?

  • We need to get rid of him, he is a waste of space and only does what is good for him and not the people of Rochdale.
    Joanne M

  • He should resign and give Rochdale the opportunity to elect someone who is going to represent it properly.
    Linda M

  • It's a complete embarrassment to the town now the behaviour of the Rochdale MP. One shameful act after another, no role model to the children of the town. Excuse after excuse. What on earth must his children be thinking? Porn, drink, sex, bullying and dodgy expenses. What exactly does he have to do before he is removed? The town has no pride whilst this idiot is representing it in the House of Commons.
    Paul S

  • Simon Danczuk has further stigmatised Rochdale. Yes, everyone has flaws but there is the right time and place to be undertaking such behaviour. He does not deserve to represent Rochdale as MP. If an ordinary person did what Simon did, falsely claiming expenses and cheating the entire system what course of action would be taken against that person? Most likely be thrown behind bars. We have had enough, he has seriously caused a lot of damage to Rochdale and to the people who reside here. Why should we have to put up with this behaviour? It is completely and utterly wrong.
    Amir A

  • The man is a disgrace he doesn't help the people of Rochdale - my mum is one example. My mum has attended his office on a number of occasions with the same concerns and asked for help and never on any of her visits to his office has any help been offered, all my mum got every time she went is they will contact her. This has never happened to this day. He is simply not up to the job.
    Janet W

  • To think this clown had the nerve to question Jermey Corbyn's 'political credibility', his own credibility is so tarnished and dysfunctional with stories like these almost every other weekend. Its classic sociopathic behaviour, unable to empathise normally with others and the total inability to see any personal responsibility for their own actions. Text book denial symptoms and refusal to accept any personal blame or responsibility. It's almost infantalised behaviour. I suspect another book on Simon's favorite subject, 'himself', may soon be on the self help section in Waterstones.
    Andrew W

  • Now is not the time for him to resign. That time was at least 12 months ago. But he will still cling to his post, dragging the name of this town ever deeper into the mire. Even the Tory rag that he wrote for to defame his own party has now turned on him. Is there nothing that will make him do the right thing? Why is it that MPs appear to be the only people who cannot be sacked for bringing their profession into disrepute (if it is possible for politicians to be any more disreputable)? He has been suspended from the Labour party for well over six months now. Is it not time that they were doing something about him?
    Ken W

  • Danczuk is no role model for the children of Rochdale.
    Paul

  • The buffoon isn't fit to be a hod carrier let alone an *honourable* MP.
    Neil H

  • Time to call it a day Simon Danczuk, Rochdale deserves better.
    Dan B

  • Should a man whose judgment is clearly so seriously suspect be an MP?
    No clearly not!
    Chris P

  • Why on earth should his private life come into this?
    Colette H

  • Simple answer: No. And in the circumstances, we should not be asking him to stand down, and leaving it his own responsibility to do so, we should be taking matters into our own hands and forcing him to. This man is a pathetic excuse for a human being let alone a politician. How can the people of Rochdale trust and rely upon this man? How can they call upon him to support and represent them? And how can the anyone have any faith in the Labour party whilst this man is allowed to continue to represent them? He is currently ‘suspended’ as they say but who do we call upon at this time, and why does it take so long to decide what to do with him? We must stand up and rid Rochdale of this man. I have no faith in the Labour party whilst they do nothing about this situation and no citizen of Rochdale should do either.
    E Jones

  • He should never have been an MP, the trouble is he cannot be removed from office until 2020.
    Jack B

  • Get rid he is a disgrace.
    Nickette B

  • No he shouldn't be an MP, he's not got an honest bit about him!
    Elaine W

  • Vote of no confidence!
    Nick D

  • Hope he gets deselected by the next election.
    Russ W

  • He should be sacked! An absolute farce!
    Natalie T

  • Our supposed MP is a disgrace to the community he allegedly represents. Rochdale has enough problems with the media due to recent goings on, the last thing we need is a philanderer flaunting his conquests about in the media. I believe the time has arrived for him to do what may come as nigh on impossible and be honourable enough to resign and give Rochdale the chance to elect someone who will support Rochdale in the manner an elected person should.
    Anthony S

  • I simply think that he needs to go. If he cared about his party in any way he would realise he needs to leave. I also don't think, however, that such a clearly amoral figure would do so voluntarily.
    Tom D
