Ben Ryan-Davis to take on Hollyoaks role

Rochdale actor Ben Ryan-Davis, who starred in Waterloo Road, is to join Hollyoaks as part of a serious storyline addressing the issues behind sexual consent.

Ben is set to play a party animal and ladies’ man called Nick Savage, who has a dark side to his character which will be unveiled as part of the plot.

In September the scenes will show him with student Ellie Nightingale, played by Sophie Porley, who goes home with him having just met him and wakes up confused and without a memory of their evening.

Ben said: “I think this is a very important issue so young men and women are educated about how to get and give consent and keep themselves safe while negotiating milestones like going to university for the first time. It’s a big responsibility and challenge and I’m honoured that Hollyoaks has trusted me to tell this story.”

Hollyoaks is working alongside a youth charity called The Mix and Rape Crisis to bring to light the darker issues around sexual consent.
