Rochdale Half Marathon road closures

Date published: 21 September 2016

There will be some disruption on the roads on Sunday 25 September 2016 as a Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run take place.

The event will cause some disruption to the highway network as there will be road closures in place to ensure the safety of the runners.

The following roads will be affected (either fully or partially) on the day of the race. There will be statutory notices on these roads to inform you of the closure details.

*The Esplanade, *Baillie Street, *Smith Street, *Entwisle Road, *Belfield Road, *Reservoir Street, *Albert Royds Street, *Belfield Mill Lane, Canal Street (Littleborough), Hollingworth Road, Lake Bank (Hollingworth Lake), Waithlands Road, Whitley Road, Milnrow Road, Belfield Lane, Crawford Street.

Static road closures around the town centre and those roads indicated with an asterisk (*) above will start from 8am and end at approximately 12.30pm, however the other parts of the route will be managed by a rolling road closure so once runners have passed through the area the road will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so.

The closures affecting Hollingworth Lake will be from approximately 9am – 11.30am. The closure affecting Waithlands Road area will be from approximately 10.15am to 12.00.

If you will need to exit any of the closed areas by car on the day of the race it is recommended that you make alternative arrangements in advance as it will not be possible to drive on to the closed roads outlined above. Plans will be put in place for access by the emergency services.
