Newhey Quality Butchers remains open for business after car collides with shop front

A silver Vauxhall has collided with the shop front of Newhey Quality Butchers during the early hours of Thursday (18 May).

Despite damage to the shop front, the butchers remains open as usual for business and local residents have chipped in to help make the store accessible.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 3.20am, police were called to reports of a fail to stop collision between a car and a shop on Huddersfield Road, Rochdale.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 201 of 18/05/17 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
