Overturned caravan caused M62 delays
Date published: 28 June 2017
Debris scattered across the M62 westbound carriageway near junction 22
An overturned caravan that spilled debris across the M62 caused severe delays on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a lorry and a car pulling the caravan, just before the exit slip road at junction 22, Saddleworth, at around 10.35am.
No one was injured but there was a fuel spillage on the motorway and two Westbound lanes were closed as recovery work took place - with queues stretching back several miles.
The lanes were reopened within four hours.
