Francis Patrick Doherty sentenced to prison for series of car crimes

Francis Patrick Doherty (10/05/1994), has been sentenced to 32 months in prison for a series of crimes, including the theft of an Astra from a car centre in Heywood.

Doherty, of Corn Mill Drive, Bolton, appeared at Bolton Crown Court on Tuesday 11 July. He pleaded guilty to four different court cases, for crimes dating back to 2015.

He received ten months’ imprisonment consecutive for dangerous driving on 16 May 2017 with no separate penalty for driving without insurance.

At a Preston court case, Doherty received seven months' imprisonment for theft of a motor vehicle on 13 December 2015, seven months to run consecutive for dangerous driving, three months concurrent for driving whilst disqualified. He received no separate penalty for driving without insurance or failing to surrender to custody.

For offences dating to 28 January 2015, he received two months’ imprisonment consecutive for both being carried in a motor vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle, with no separate penalty for failing to surrender.

For a case in Maidstone, Kent, Doherty received four months’ imprisonment consecutive for escaping from custody with no separate penalty for failing to surrender to custody.

He was also disqualified from driving for 40 months in total with extended retest to be taken.
