Council CEO Steve Rumbelow to take on leadership of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group

Date published: 14 December 2017

The leadership of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG) is set to merge with Rochdale Borough Council by the end of 2018.

It is understood that the CCG will still exist as a statutory body but its functions will effectively be merged with council’s social care department and council chief executive Steve Rumbelow is expected to take over the CCG accountable officer role on a dual basis.

The change comes after the region’s devolution team told the 10 CCGs in Greater Manchester to establish a “single commissioning function” with their council, the Health Service Journal reports.

Asked to comment, Rochdale Council Communications team declined to do so saying they are "putting a press release together about this"!
