RBH marks International Women’s Day with positive gender pay gap results

RBH’s senior leaders celebrate International Women’s Day

Across RBH as a whole, on average, women earn 8.22% more than men. This compares to a national gender pay gap, as reported by the Office for National Statistics, of on average men earning 9.1% more than women.

RBH’s senior leadership team includes three women at Executive Management Team level (75%). Six of RBH’s eight Heads of Service are women, as is the new Chairwoman of the RBH Board.

Viv Renshaw, RBH HR Manager, said: “We have already had great success in recruiting and supporting women to take up apprenticeships in our repairs service, and we now have our first fully qualified female gas servicing engineer. We want to build on this, and we have linked with Procure Plus and Upturn to increase the number of women in this area.

"We are working in our communities to raise the profile of RBH career opportunities, helping to support, guide and encourage women who might never consider a career in a craft trade.

"There is an action plan to look at ways to attract a more equal spread of men and women across our other posts that are more traditionally occupied by one sex – including encouraging men to take up posts in teams that have been historically largely female-orientated.”

UK companies with 250 or more employees are required to publish their gender pay gaps by 5 April 2018. RBH figures are a snapshot of our employee pay as at 5 April 2017 and RBH will be publishing their data on the government database.
