Rochdale’s economy one of the ‘least vibrant’ in Greater Manchester

Rochdale’s economy is one of the ‘least vibrant’ in Greater Manchester, according to a new study.

Ranked by business advisory group Grant Thornton, the borough is the second lowest in the region in terms of a vibrant economy.

It is also one of the least vibrant out of all 324 local authority areas, ranking 276.

The borough also ranked in the bottom 20% nationally against a number of economic measures, such as inclusion, equality health, wellbeing and happiness. The borough has an average ranking for prosperity, and resilience and sustainability.

In Greater Manchester, Trafford ranked as having the most vibrant economy, ranked 68 out of 324, with Oldham as the lowest, just 10 places behind Rochdale.
