Car gets stuck between Smithy Bridge level crossing

The car stuck on the line at Smithy Bridge Railway Station
A car became stuck on the snow-covered railway line at Smithy Bridge on Tuesday afternoon (29 January).
The car was moved within around five minutes after reports were made to Network Rail.
A Network Rail spokesperson, said: “Following a report a car driving through the barrier at Smithy Bridge level crossing, we immediately stopped trains.
“We are pleased to report the car was removed within a few minutes and trains have resumed as normal. Our engineers are on site investigating the damage to the barrier.”
