House fire in Littleborough
Date published: 20 June 2019
Fire crews from Rochdale, Heywood and Littleborough battled a house fire on Halifax Road for a couple of hours on Saturday (15 June).
Firefighters used the turntable ladder from Manchester, six breathing apparatus, three house reels, a high-pressure lance and a thermal imaging camera to put out the roof fire in Littleborough.
Crews were on scene for seven hours to ensure the blaze had been extinguished, and road closures were in place between Ashbrook Hey Lane and Oakcliffe Road for some time.
A spokesperson for Manchester Fire said: “We were called at 5.52pm and remained on scene for around seven hours, although the fire was out at around 7pm. Damage was contained to the affected house and adjacent properties.”
