Mayor and Mayoress attend multicultural Charity Auction and Fashion Show

Mayor and Mayoress Billy and Lynn Sheerin attended a multicultural Charity Auction and Fashion Show on Thursday 20 June.

Jackie Robinson, Community Development Officer, Brownhill Learning Community said: “We sold lovely new and second hand pre- loved clothing and accessories at a very reasonable prices, as well as auctioning some of the clothes and shoes.

“We raised £350; the money raised from the evening is to be divided between Moorland Children’s Home & Brownhill Learning Community.

“Part way through the evening we had Bollywood dancing and then for the finale we had a performance from High Crompton Morris troop.

“The evening was about celebrating other cultures and coming together as a community whilst socialising over a coffee and a cake.

“Apart from enjoying an evening of entertainment it also helped to build up people’s confidence, self-esteem and social skills.

“It was an amazing night everyone enjoyed taking home some lovely items at a very low cost.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who gave of their time, and everyone who took part.”

The event was organised by Jackie Robinson, Community Development Officer at Brownhill Learning Community and the parent forum.
