Festive grant for Friends of Hopwood Park

Date published: 10 December 2020

The Friends of Hopwood Park in Heywood have received a small grant towards festive decorations in time for Christmas.

After receiving £100 from the Forever Manchester Connecting Communities at Christmas Fund, the park’s Friends group will be creating a special Christmas Cabin Garden to brighten up the park.

In recent years, the park has been vastly improved with the reopening of Hopwood Cabin, the opening of the Tree House Café, a picnic area, new paths to improve disabled access, improved lighting and drainage facilities, plus landscaping and enhancements.

Any small handmade decorations by children will be added to the display on the fir tree or in the planters. There will be prizes for the best contributions.

Please drop decorations off at the Tree House Café (names must be provided to win a prize).
