Volunteers from Milnrow and Newhey Take Your Pick
Volunteers from Milnrow and Newhey Take Your Pick cleared bags of litter from the local streets on Sunday (25 April).
Twenty-two volunteers met outside Butterworth Hall in the morning before tackling the central area of Milnrow, some of the back streets, towards Hollingworth Academy and at the precinct of shops on Dale Street.
In the short space of an hour, the volunteers collected around 16 bags of rubbish.
Milnrow and Newhey Take Your Pick meets once a month to tackle a ‘grot spot’ area of the villages, usually on the last Sunday of the month.
All volunteers are welcome; new volunteers should ask to join the group's Facebook page, where all information is posted.
