Melanie Caffrey is new president of Rotary Heywood 2020

Melanie Caffrey has been welcomed as the 2021/22 president of Rotary Heywood 2020, succeeding outgoing president Dave Jones.

Melanie, 40, has lived in Heywood her entire life and is married to Jim Caffrey. They have two children, Tilly and James, and Melanie has worked at Mike Goldrick Blinds since leaving university.

Melanie, who is also secretary of Heywood Business Group and plays a key role in organising the annual 1940s day and Christmas Festival, said: “I’m over the moon about becoming Rotary Heywood 2020's President this year and hope to follow in Dave’s footsteps with another successful year for our new club. I have a great team helping me, so here’s to a fantastic year."

Critical care nurse and mother of three Natalie Strudwick takes up the mantle of vice president.

Natalie works as a critical care nurse at St. Mary's Hospital premature baby unit and is married with three sons.

She is really looking forward to working with Mel and the rest of the team to make this Rotary year a massively successful one.

Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland is a membership and humanitarian service organisation. Through membership of their local Rotary club, members use their time and talents to make a difference in their own communities and around the world.

There are two clubs in Heywood; Rotary Heywood 2020 and the older Rotary Club of Heywood.
